At least this week it's nearly 05:30 when I'm
writing this!
When our friends and work colleagues ask, "Are
you getting excited? Where will you be going?" I don't know if excited
is the right word?
It just doesn't seem real when we start reeling
off the different places in South America, Australia, New Zealand, Asia,
and Africa that we're going to go and explore.
Sometimes it feels like we're talking about
what someone else is about to go off and do, rather than us. We both have
great jobs, company cars, good salaries and benefits, why would you give
them up?
How many of you have had a brave idea after a
few beers saying that you are going to quit work and go travelling? Then
when you wake up in the morning, sober, you hope your other half can't
remember what you said because the bravery has worn off with the alcohol?
Well, we're still waiting to sober up!
You know the saying, "half the fun is doing it
and half the fun is anticipating it!" I hope that doesn't mean that half
the fun is over on 2 September 2005? |
