Wow! We beat the French for The Olympics!
Come on! I for one cannot wait to go to such a great event.
I managed to watch the International Olympic
Committee vote as it happened and have to say I got quite emotional when
they said "London!" Especially given Chirac's comments earlier this week!
The G8 concerts happened last weekend. Is it
just me or do you reckon a huge percentage of the people at the G8
concerts were there for the music and don't actually know/care about what
G8 are trying to do? I know they got millions of texts to show support,
but how many people just sent a text because they were asked, rather than
because they understood what they were supporting?
Then this morning as I am writing this I'm
watching the news to hear how London has been hit by up to 6 blasts that
have caused at least 30 fatalities. This doesn't make me angry anymore,
just sadness for the families affected by events like this. At the same
time pity for the people who are so committed and blinkered in their
beliefs that they cannot see what harm they are doing to the people who
share this world with them! |
